Version 2.6.1 - January 18, 2011 - Home, Express and Pro
iStopMotion 2.5 and later require at least Mac OS X Leopard v10.5.8, but Mac OS X Snow Leopard v10.6.4 or later is highly recommended.
- Resolved a crash on startup on all Mac OS X Leopard v10.5.8 systems. Sorry about that! Supporting legacy systems is getting harder and harder and may soon vanish.
- Resolved an issue that would destroy the Mac App Store version after using the "Send to iMovie" command.
- Many other impovements and fixes for all versions, but even more so for the Mac App Store build.
- Unfortunately most Canon DSLR cameras are no longer working on Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.5 and 10.6.6.
Support had been added by Apple in 10.6.4 but once again dropped in 10.6.5. We don't know the reason for this but can confirm that
Image Capture and Aperture also no longer work with those cameras. Unfortunately there's nothing we can do about this right now.
We will continue to investigate and keep you updated…
Version 2.6 - December 16, 2010 - Home, Express and Pro
iStopMotion 2.5 and later require at least Mac OS X Leopard v10.5.8, but Mac OS X Snow Leopard v10.6.4 or later is highly recommended.
Version 2.6 is the first version to appear on the Mac App Store.
- This is the first version to fully support the Mac App Store.
- Added an awesome Getting Started movie that can be accessed via Help > Getting Started.
- Camera preview had wrong aspect ratio when capturing with a NTSC 4:3 video camera.
- Improved the circumstances for showing the warning about missing HDV Codec.
- Fixed quite a few rather esoteric crashes that still occured after 2.5.1 was released. No animals were harmed when performing the necessary voodoo.
- As usual, many other small fixes and improvements.
